The UCI Mountain Bike World Tour is back and ready to take the world by storm! This year’s tour will take athletes on a journey around the world as they compete in two major disciplines, Down hill and Cross Country.
In Down hill, athletes will race against the clock on a track filled with natural and man-made obstacles like jumps, drops, and rock gardens. Athletes must brave their way through these challenges while maintaining control of their bike to make it to the finish line in record time. As professional mountain biker Sam Hill stated “Downhill racing is all about adrenaline and going as fast as you can”.
Cross Country takes a different approach to mountain biking where athletes have to make a set number of laps on a closed circuit, racing against each other instead of against the clock. Unlike Down Hill which focuses more on speed and adrenaline, Cross Country requires endurance and stamina from its competitors. As professional mountain biker Nino Schurter put it “Cross country racing is like running a marathon – you have to stay focused throughout the entire race”.
The UCI Mountain Bike World Tour provides an opportunity for both experienced professionals and amateur cyclists alike to test their skills against some of the best riders in the world. The tour will travel around Europe before heading across Asia, America and Australia for its finale at Fort William in Scotland in September 2021. Riders are welcomed from all over the globe so don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity to join one of the most exciting events in mountain biking!
The UCI Mountain Bike World Tour is sure to be an incredible event that will bring together some of the best riders from all around the world. With Down hill providing thrilling action and Cross Country testing athletes’ endurance, there is something for everyone at this event! So get ready for an unforgettable experience that you won’t want to miss out on!
